Third Party Funding in Construction Law

The third of the five Irish conference webinars looked at the issue of third party funding in construction disputes. Dr Hamish Lal the Society of Constriction Law vice-chairman, a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, moderated the webinar. Darren Lehane SC who appeared in the leading Irish case on funding Persona Digital Telephony Limited and Another v The Minister for Public Enterprise, Ireland and Others [2017] IESC27 (“Persona”) gave the viewpoint on the issue in the Republic of Ireland. Belfast based barrister Anna Rowan looked at the topic from the view point of construction professionals in Northern Ireland. Matthew Denney from London based third party finders LCM finance was the final speaker.
