SCL Hudson Prize 2020 prizewinners announced

The Judging Panel of the SCL Hudson Prize has announced the following results for the 2020 competition:

First Prize: 'The Hudson-formula: death by footnote?' by Dr Ronan Champion, Partner, Champion Pearce LLP and Lecturer, University of Reading.

Second Prize: 'The proper case for the inapplicability of Fiona Trust to statutory adjudication after Bresco' by Myron Phua, Member, The Queens College, University of Oxford.

Commended: 'Statutory payment notification obligations pursuant HGCRA and BCISPA (NSW): a comparative study from the perspective of preventing smash-and-grab adjudications whilst improving the legislation’s effectiveness' by Charalampos (Harry) Meliniotis, Director, MCDR Limited and PhD Research Student at the University of Leicester.

Commended: 'Another piece of the puzzle: Are penalty clauses unenforceable or void?' by Shouyu Chong, Visiting Lecturer and PhD Research Student at the Centre of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution, Kings College London, and SCL Frances Paterson Scholar.
