Cladding Claims Post-Grenfell

Lynne McCafferty QC and Daniel Churcher, 4 Pump Court

There has been a flurry of claims about external cladding of high-rise residential buildings in the wake of the terrible fire at Grenfell Tower in London on 14 June 2017.

In Part One of the podcast, Daniel Churcher considers what those designing and constructing cladding systems need to do to demonstrate compliance with the relevant requirements and guidance under the Building Regulations. In Part Two, Lynne McCafferty QC examines the evidence which those advising on cladding claims need to be aware of (including that published by the Grenfell Inquiry), analyses the factors likely to be weighed in the balance by the TCC, and looks at the wider implications for the construction industry.
