Council Election 2024

Have you ever considered standing for election to join Council? The 2024 election provides a fantastic opportunity to join a diverse, inclusive, and progressive Team. It is also an exceptionally valuable time to stand for election because we have 8 Vacancies - this is because of the 2023 changes to the Constitution.  Put simply, we have:

  • 6 Vacancies for Ordinary Members of Council; and
  • 2 Vacancies for Astra Members (meaning Members who are under the age of 35 and / or who have less than 10 years of experience in their current field)

If you would like to discuss any aspect of the election, please contact me hamish.lal@hamishlalpartners.com

Council’s work embraces an array of activities: organising Talks, Social Events, and Educational Seminars; overseeing the Papers and Publications; the Mentoring Scheme; liaising with Universities, Ciarb, TECSA, TECBAR, and other SCLs around the world; awarding the Hudson Prize and the Frances Paterson Scholarships; and much more. We share responsibilities between us in sub-committees and we happily need new talent and fresh thinking. The Council meets nine times a year and please note you may need to share personal details to our banking and other regulatory bodies.
