The paper looks at 'parallel partnering', a type of collateral agreement between a supplier of products and an end user.The supplier does not supply the products directly to the end user, but thought an intermediary that incorporates these products into works that will eventually be adopted by the end user.The paper describes the circumstances which resulted in the birth of parallel partnering, and goes on to consider in some detail a case study in the water industry - the supply and installation of plastic pipes.
