The talk will outline the findings of the leading research on why projects go over budget, finish late and fail to meet their objectives, before examining the behavioural science behind those findings, that forms the foundation for a deeper understanding of the reasons underlying project failure, from Thinking, Fast and Slow to The Black Swan, from Superforecasting to Creativity, Inc., and applying this to provide lessons from project failure for construction professionals.
