Michael Levenstein

Michael is a barrister at Gatehouse Chambers specialising in construction and engineering disputes. His cases frequently involve high-value and technically-complex projects, both in the TCC and international litigation and arbitration. He serves as a member of the Executive Committee of TECBAR, and is an accredited adjudicator and mediator. In addition to his practice, Michael is Visiting Lecturer and an LLM supervisor at The City Law School, University of London. He has written, co-edited and/or contributed to multiple books, including Construction All Risks Insurance, Construction Professional Indemnity Insurance (both Sweet & Maxwell, 2018-present), the British Constructional Steelwork Association's Construction Contractual Handbook (2019) and The History of the Technology and Construction Court on its 150th Anniversary (Hart, 2023).

Murray is the founder of Armes-ADR, a practice specialising in the provision tribunal services in arbitration, dispute boards, adjudication and mediation. He has over4 40 years' experience in the industry working on many types of construction projects in the UK and around the world and is a Chartered Arbitrator, Accredited Adjudicator and Mediator and Dispute Board Member who is included on the FIDIC President's List of international adjudicators. He has been instructed on several hundred cases as expert, dispute board member, adjudicator and mediator and is currently appointed to the dispute board for the ITER Prototype Fusion Energy Project in France, which is the world's largest energy project and was also appointed to the Adjudication Panel for the new High Luminosity Project at CERN in Switzerland, to the DAB for an EPR nuclear project, an energy supply network in Ghana and a cutting edge building project in Iraq, as well as other projects for CERN and in the Caribbean and Far East.

Sue is a Senior Director, Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Quantum Expert and Adjudicator at Socotec Advisory in London, with over 20 years of experience working internationally in the construction, infrastructure and energy sectors. She has been instructed as quantum expert in adjudication, litigation and international arbitration in relation to projects in the UK, Europe, Asia, South America, the Middle East. She has been recognised by Lexology Who's Who Legal Expert lists for Consulting, Construction, Transport and Arbitration Experts. She is also a member of arbitral institution panels, an accredited adjudicator and a non-practising barrister. As one of the founding members, she has been one of the SCL Korea Council Members and an international liaison lead for SCL Korea. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a CIArb London Branch Committee member.

Katherine Butler

Katherine is a Senior Associate at Fenwick Elliott LLP and has strong experience in both domestic and international construction and engineering disputes. Katherine advises both contractor and developer clients and has acted on matters in the Technology and Construction Court, the Court of Appeal as well as in various international arbitrations. Katherine is active in contributing to sector know how through published updates and articles in industry press and was awarded the SCL's prizes for 'Best Overall Graduate' and 'Best Dissertation' following completion of the King's College MSc in 2020.
