The Society awards annual grants to universities for the purchase of construction law related books. In addition, it also awards an SCL prize to the student who produces the best construction law related dissertation. At the recent award ceremony at London South Bank University, SCL Councillor Peter Phillippo awarded the SCL prize to Gill Macquirie who gained a distinction for her dissertation; the findings of which were presented at the RICS COBRA Conference in Dublin under a paper headed ‘Collaboratively working and the Housing Grants, Regeneration and Construction Act 1996: a better deal for specialist subcontractors?’
